CUPPING THERAPY

Cupping Therapy for Muscle Relief and Detox

This method is very old, and its origin is not entirely clear. References to it come not only from ancient China, where it remains a part of medicine to this day, but also from ancient Egypt and Greece. It is therefore a very ancient technique that continues to successfully treat people around the world.

Cupping therapy involves creating a vacuum on the skin using heated glass cups. As the air inside the cup cools, a vacuum is formed, drawing the skin and underlying tissues upward. This stimulates deep blood circulation in a way that traditional massage often cannot achieve.

Cupping is highly effective for:

  • Relieving back and spinal pain

  • Relaxing stiff muscles

  • Stimulating blood flow

  • Detoxifying the body

There are several cupping techniques used today. In the traditional method, glass cups are placed on specific areas of the body for a few minutes. During full back treatments, cups are applied and removed in a precise sequence, ensuring that all areas are treated thoroughly and with minimal discomfort.

One of the biggest advantages of cupping is that it works across multiple layers—muscles, skin, connective tissue, and lymphatic system—all at once. It's a great option for clients who prefer alternatives to traditional massage or wish to complement their regular massage sessions. This method also has fewer contraindications, making it suitable even for pregnant women or individuals with mild varicose veins.

Cupping is not limited to the back—it can be applied to other areas, especially the legs, where it's known for its effectiveness in reducing the appearance of cellulite.

We also offer joint cupping, most commonly for the shoulders and knees, using plastic vacuum cups. These use a hand pump to create a stronger and more controlled vacuum, providing deeper relief for joint issues.

Please note: mild bruising may occur in treated areas. These marks are not painful and typically fade within a few days.
